The 2017 Stone’s Chapel Annual Gathering was held on Saturday, September 16. We couldn’t have asked for nicer weather! Madeleine MacNeil graced us with her singing and music on the hammered dulcimer. Rick Hopper, a descendant of Thomas Hunsicker who was one of the founders of the German Reformed congregation at Stone’s Chapel in the 1750s, talked about his research into his family’s history and how they came to the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.

After the service, Rick placed a wreath at the grave of Peter Hunsicker, Thomas’ grandson and Rick’s great-great-great uncle.

The covered dish luncheon was delicious, as always. Thank you to everyone who attended, particularly those who were visiting for the first time.
